Garret James Doll, 21, died Tuesday August 18, 2020. He was a son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew, and friend who was loved by so many. He was born on May 20, 1999 in Garden City, KS.

Garret graduated from Garden City High School and then attended Kansas State University. He was passionate about sports, his family, and the Lord. He loved hanging out with his brother and cousins on the farm. He was incredibly competitive and would never pass up an opportunity to challenge someone to a basketball game or track race. Some of his favorite memories took place playing sports. If he wasn’t on the basketball court or the football field, you could find him hanging out at the lake or cheering on the K-State Wildcats or the Kansas City Chiefs. Garret was talented in everything from playing the piano to throwing a football, but always remained humble and kind. He was a faithful follower of Jesus and knew the Bible well even at a young age. We will miss so many things about Garret, especially his big heart and contagious smile.

He is survived by his Parents- Mark and Jennifer Doll; Siblings- Kayla and Colton Donahue, Katy Doll, and Devin Doll; Grandparents- Catherine Doll, Kenny and Cindy Becker, and Don and Jane Johnson; and Great-Grandparents Ethel Johnson and Dean Jeffries.

A Vigil service and Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Garden City. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday also at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Warren Stecklein as Celebrant. The funeral Mass may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to the Garret Doll Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.

I was so sorry to read about Garrett and I wanted to give my warmest condolences to the family. To lose your child can cause such overwhelming sadness but the God of all comfort tells us at 2 Kings 20:5 He feels our pain, even sees our tears. This is the time where God’s Word can help us find peace in the darkest of moments. At we can read in the Bible John 5:28,29 that not only does God care but He also gives the assurance that you will have Garrett in your life once again. May all your memories give you calm until God’s promises come true. Again so very sorry for your heartache. 💐

I just got to know Garret via VH and was better because of it! He was nearing his departure when I arrived and we quickly bonded over sports! Garret had a champions spirit that didn't waste words but when he spoke it was usually something worth hearing. My most sincere condolences to the family. Joe Harvey
