Obituary for John Carl Corff

John Carl Corff, 81 of Elbert CO died at home Saturday, May 23, 2020. John was born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 22, 1938, the oldest of 16 kids. He was married to Margie Ann Kelly on July 19,1960 and they were married for 44 years when Margie passed away. They raised 3 sons in Oklahoma where John served in the Airforce Reserves and worked in the rock quarries near Yukon, OK. They then moved to Colorado Springs in 1989. He bought his beloved property on Eastonville Rd. in 1994 because the openness of the property reminded him of Oklahoma. He married Glenda Louise Lewis on February 11, 2006 on the property beside the pond… it was very cold! John enjoyed anything that was trains, train rides in several states, model railroading on his layout and train watching alongside the rails. He greatly enjoyed his old Farmall tractors and the antique tractor pulls he participated in with the Arkansas Valley Flywheelers, of which he was a long time member. It was at a tractor pull that Glenda and her grandson Darian adopted the dog they named angel “for him”, and he dearly loved that dog. He was also very good at woodworking and woodcarving. John also ran a successful handyman business for years. John was very active in program and sponsored a lot of people, helping them to find a better way to be and to live.
John is preceded in death by his parents Nickolas Carl Corff and Barbara Cecilia (Geirk) Corff, his sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jean Roy and his first wife Margie Ann Kelly Corff.
John is survived by his wife Glenda Corff, his three sons and their families and his 14 brothers and sisters and their families.
