Joyce Lorine McBride, 92, died on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Wichita County Health Center in Leoti. She was born on September 11, 1927 in Dighton the daughter of Richard & Mary (Durham) Church. She married James C. McBride on June 8, 1946 at Dighton. He died on July 26, 2002.

Joyce graduated from Dighton High School in 1945. She received her teaching certificate from a college in California. She returned to Dighton and taught school in Alamota before her marriage. They moved to Leoti where she was the Secretary of the Soil Conservation District for over 30 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Leoti where she was the pianist. She taught piano lessons for over 50 years to hundreds of kids. In many instances she taught three generations of some families. She enjoyed quilting, baking, and her children and grandchildren’s activities. She volunteered for several years as a judge for the flower entries at the Wichita County Fair.

She is survived by 2 Sons- Jim McBride of Andover and Tom McBride of Tucson, Arizona, Sister- Joan Baird of Colorado Springs, Colorado, 11 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Daughter- Marilyn Wilbur, Son- Dennis McBride, Sister- Jean Baird, Brother- Casey Church and Granddaughter- Wendy Wilbur.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Leoti with Rev Tod Anthony officiating. Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to Service time on Saturday at the church or watch the service on the Leoti UMC facebook page.
