Garden City- Kay Beth Allen, 78, died on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City. She was born on May 31, 1942 at Kellyville, Oklahoma the daughter of Ralph “Brown” & Verla Daryl (Staiger) Begley. She married Jim Allen on September 7, 1963 at Hobbs, New Mexico.
Kay Beth attended school in Kellyville, Oklahoma and then moved to Hobbs, New Mexico for and graduated from Hobbs High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. She and her husband moved to Hugoton where she taught second and third grades for 6 years. In 2013 they moved to Garden City. Kay Beth’s passion was following her grandchildren in every activity they participated in and spending time in their homes in Colorado and Arizona.
She is survived by her husband- Jim Allen, daughters- Kimberly & Justin Shaddix and Kristi & Steve Nordby both of Garden City, brother- Jim & Judy Begley of Atwood and 4 grandchildren- Abbi & Cody Worden, Shea Nordby, Raegan Nordby and Mason Shaddix and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother- Jack Begley and 2 sisters- Glendora Jaco and Vida Chambers.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with the service on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Live.
