Obituary for Norma Rivera
Norma Rivera, 30, died Saturday August 15, 2020 at St Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born June 11, 1990 in Michoacán, Mexico the daughter of Juan & Norma (Cerda) Rios.
Norma came first came to Los Angeles in 2010. She heard her calling to follow God as a young lady, and with her family was eager to serve the Lord. She met Alex Rivera, they courted, married and had two children. Her husband Alex, like her father, became a Pastor of the Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Hispana. She and her children composed and sang songs regularly, even when her illness caused her pain. She praised the Lord in song, actions, and faithful testimony through the Iglesia Pentecostal Unida Hispana of Ulysses, of which her husband is the Pastor.
She is survived by her Husband-Pastor Alex Rivera , Children- Eduardo Rivera & Victoria Rivera; Parents- Pastor Juan Rios and wife Norma Cerda de Rios; Siblings-Karina Rios, Liliana Rios & Juan Jesus Rios & Grandparents-Juan Rios and Eduardo Cerda Esperanza Gaytan.
A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday August 20, 2020 and Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday August 21, 2020 both at First Christian Church, 306 N 7th, Garden City, Kansas. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. The family suggest memorials to the Norma Rivera Memorial Fund in Care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street, Garden City, Kansas. 620-276-3219.
