Robert Jerel Hernandez, 45, died Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born December 27, 1974 in Garden City, Kansas.
Robert grew up in Garden City and attended Garden City schools. In the 1990’s, he lived in Topeka, Kansas for a few years. He then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he has lived since. A self-employed artist, Robert enjoyed painting, sketching, tattoo, sculpture, and singing where he sang in a church choir.
Survivors include his mother Beatrice Herrera of Garden City; his father Robert Hernandez, Jr.; four siblings Denise & husband Randall Hundertmark of Garden City, Kansas, Antohny Garcia of Dallas, Texas, Alicia Garcia of Dallas, Texas, & James Garcia of Dodge City, Kansas; a step-father Tony James Garcia of Garden City, Kansas; his grandfather Robert “Bob” Hernandez, Sr. of Garden City, Kansas; and seven nieces and nephews Tristan Nanninga, Devin Hundertmark, Nathan Hundertmark, Jonathan Burback, Angela Burback, Christopher Burback, & Olivia Stogner.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Garden City with Fr. Jacob Schneider as Celebrant. A private family burial will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours.
