Whey-Leah Parks, 51, died Saturday, July 4, 2020 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 18, 1969 in Abilene, Kansas.
Whey-Leah has been a longtime resident of Holcomb and Garden City. She has worked for the last 13 years at Kansas Land and Tire. She enjoyed flowers, cooking, thrifting, people. She loved spending time with her family and loved her dog “Zilla.”
On March 25, 2013, she married Justin Parks in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include her children Miranda Miller and her significant other George Weimer of Benton, Tennessee, Lane & wife Haley Miller of Benton, Tennessee, Austin Parks and his significant other Erica Monterroza of Garden City, Kansas, Dylan & wife Riley, Parks of Garden City, Kansas, and Adam Strong of Garden City, Kansas; a brother Breck Mowdy of Louisiana; three sisters Monica McCartney of Garden City, Kansas, Mary McCartney of Wichita, Kansas, and Signa & husband Tim Taylor of Glen Burnie, Maryland; and three grandchildren Kaesyn Parks, Jaxson Miller, & Greyson Miller. Whey-Leah is preceded in death by her mother Karen Kay Mowdy.
A private family service will take place at a later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests memorials given to the Finney County Humane Society in care of Garnand Funeral Home of Garden City.
